ADMT 3.2 ERR2:7674 Unable to determine the local path for ADMIN share on the machine 'Computer1'. rc=-2147024891

Summary: When attempting to translate security for profile on a client computer you receive the error ERR2:7674 Unable to determine the local path for ADMIN share on the machine 'Computer1'. rc=-2147024891

Resolution: The target (new domain) domain admins do not have administrator rights on the client machine. To add the target domain admins to the local administrator:

1. Log into computer1, open command prompt and type:

net localgroup "Administrators" "corp\domain admins" /ADD

To make a global push across all computers you can either use a startup script or GPO. I prefer using a the "Restricted Groups" GPO.

My server is part of administrator local group and domain admins but ADMT translation still fails with error 7674.

  7. Very helpful technical explanation of the ADMT error and its possible causes. The details make it easier to understand what might be going wrong during migration and how to troubleshoot it properly. Even while browsing different topics online, like 24kbet, it’s useful to find clear and practical IT guides like this that help solve real-world issues. Thanks for sharing!
